Beyond Cups Bootcamp: Unearthing Innovators to Tackle Plastic Waste!

17 game-changing companies from all corners of Australia gathered in Brisbane for an intense two-day event earlier this month - the Beyond Cups Challenge bootcamp! Their mission? To significantly reduce Queensland's plastic waste, focusing initially on single-use coffee cups, lids, and takeaway containers.

The 48 hour bootcamp was a great success: the energetic involvement of 17 innovative companies, represented by 23 participating founders or executives, 14 exceptional mentors, 210 empowering industry and expert meetings made this event truly unforgettable. And let's not forget the 4 industry expert panel members and 3 industry pitch judges who brought their invaluable insights.

We were delighted to see a broad range of innovative solutions represented at the event, ranging from ground-breaking reuse and recycling strategies to innovative new materials and efficient loop-closing systems. And we can’t wait to share them with you.

The Beyond Cups innovation challenge is a concerted effort to support sustainable solutions that transform the way we manufacture, reuse, and recycle coffee cups and containers, aiming for a lasting impact on Queensland's environment.

Now moving to the next stages of our innovation challenge, each of the participating companies will seek to work with industry partners to further develop their products, technologies and business models.

Stay tuned for further updates as we introduce you to the awe-inspiring Beyond Cups companies and share their progress. Let's celebrate their determination to create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
